SUL Interface 1

The figure above shows the sub-screen for performing literature/ field data search. The possible search filters are pH, H2S partial pressure, temperature. The user can search the system for laboratory or field data and can refine the search based on pH, H2S partial pressure and/or temperature.

After the user has made the choices, the user should left click on the Search button at the bottom right hand corner of the screen to perform the search. Once the search has been completed, the search results are displayed on the Search Results sub-screen.

The statusbar at the bottom of the screen displays the numbers of entries retrieved by the search. Typically the time taken to complete the search is less than one half of a second.

The figure above shows the sub-screen for performing laboratory data search. The possible search filters are pH, H2S partial pressure, chlorides content, temperature and material name (common name). The user can search the system for CPT, ACE or SSR test data and can refine the search based on pH, H2S partial pressure, chloride content, temperature and/ or material name.

After the user has made the choices, the user should left click on the Search button at the bottom right hand corner of the screen to perform the search. Once the search has been completed, the search results are displayed on the Search Results sub-screen. The Display Plot button displays the plot for a selected system.

The figure above shows the sub-screen that is displayed after a search has been performed.

The user can search the system for CPT, ACE or SSR test data and/ or laboratory or field data and can refine the search based on pH, H2S partial pressure, chloride content, temperature and/ or material name. The user can print these results to the default printer by choosing File | Print or by pressing 'Ctrl + P' on the keyboard. The user can also choose to save the search results to a data file.

The File Menu has four menu items as shown below. Save: Save prompts the user for a file name if save is attempted for the first time after program execution. The system saves the search results to a file with the specified name in the specified location. The system appends the search results to the specified file name for all future attempts to save after the first attempt. To save the search results as an independent file, click on the Save As menu option. All files are saved as simple text files with the '.txt' extension. Save As: This option allows the user to save the search results as an independent file. The user has to provide the program a name and location to save the file. Print: Print allows the user to print the search results to the default printer. The results are oriented in a landscape format. Exit: Exit prompts the user for a confirmation before quitting the system.
